What does the speaking section assess?
Exact tasks depend on the exam. In telc Język polski B1·B2 Szkoła, speaking has several parts and usually takes place in pairs. The state exam has its own current guide and criteria. Both assess communication: giving information, narrating, justifying opinions and responding. Check the official sample for your version.
Do not stop after one sentence
A reliable B1 answer has three elements: answer, reason and example. This lets you speak longer without memorising a script.

Cooperate: make a suggestion, ask for your partner’s view and respond to it rather than delivering an uninterrupted monologue.
When a word is missing
Keep the conversation moving and describe it simply: To jest miejsce, w którym…, To urządzenie służy do…, Nie pamiętam dokładnej nazwy, ale chodzi mi o….
How to practise alone
- Choose a daily topic: work, housing, health, travel or study.
- Take one minute to prepare three points.
- Record a two-minute answer without stopping.
- Find one area to improve.
- Record it again with two new connectors.
Compare recordings for long pauses, repeated words and logical structure.
On exam day
Listen to the partner and examiner to the end. Correct an error briefly and continue. One wrong ending should not stop the whole answer: the goal is communication, not perfect recitation.
